The right-handed batter last scored an international century in 2019, and the three-figure mark has eluded him since. Former England captain Kevin Pietersen asked Kohli on Saturday to be proud and walk tall, as there has been a lot of support for him recently from all over the world.

Pietersen captioned an Instagram photo of himself with Kohli: “Buddy, your career has had some of the best that have played the game only wish they could have done what you have(so far). Be proud, walk tall & enjoy life. There’s way more than just the bubble of cricket out there. You’ll be back, @virat.kohli.”
Earlier, Pakistan captain Babar Azam tweeted after Kohli was dismissed for 16 in the second ODI. “This, too, shall pass,” Babar wrote in his tweet.
Babar addressed a press conference on the eve of the first Test against Sri Lanka, and he was asked about his tweet about Kohli. “As a player, I understand that you can go through such a phase (being out of shape), and I also understand what a player goes through in such a phase. You require assistance during these times. I just tweeted in the hopes of garnering some support. He is one of the best players in the league “During a press conference, Babar stated.
“He has a lot of cricket experience and knows how to get out of these situations. It takes time, but if you back players, it will be fantastic “He continued.
Kohli’s last international century came in 2019, and the three-figure mark has eluded him since. The batter had struggled to find his rhythm in the Edgbaston Test and the two T20Is against England.
Kohli will not play in India’s upcoming ODI and T20I series against the West Indies, which begins on July 22. Kohli has been rested for the series, according to the news agency PTI.
