Cricket should not be sold; rather, it should be taught: Javagal Srinath. Srinath believes that private cricket academies lack the necessary attitude and goals.

Former India fast bowler Javagal Srinath believes that private cricket academies lack the right attitude and objectives, and that cricket should be taught rather than sold. He also emphasized the significance of the Ranji Trophy, referring to it as a “stepping stone” to Test cricket. He believes that Test cricket is the way to go if players want to connect more with the game.

When asked if the players’ attitude toward cricket has changed, the former pacer stated that it is different today than it was when the emphasis was on Test cricket. He believes it requires guidance in emphasizing the significance of the longest format.

“The Ranji Trophy is a stepping stone to Test cricket, and players who want to play the longer version of the game must excel at this level.” The longer version is the way to go if you want to feel more connected to the sport. We were fortunate because our goal was only Test cricket, not even ODIs. Now it’s different because the IPL is so difficult,” Srinath told the Times of India.
