David Warner suffers heartbreak after missing a century by one run against SL. Sri Lanka was already 2-1 up in the series and needed only one of the remaining two games to win. The victory on Tuesday gave the hosts their first ODI series victory over Australia at home since 1992.

Sri Lanka defeated Australia by four runs in the fourth One-Day International (ODI) on Tuesday. Taking a commanding 3-1 lead in the five-match series. The match at Colombo’s R Premadasa stadium was a neck-and-neck battle with little separating the two sides. While Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka’s 110-run knock stole the show in the first innings, David Warner stole the show in the second with his 99-run knock.

Both players gave their all during their respective knocks, but Asalanka’s was instrumental in his team’s victory, whereas Warner’s was ineffective.

Australia kept losing wickets at regular intervals while chasing a 259-run target, but Warner’s fighting knock kept them in the hunt until his innings came to an end.

Warner was on 99 off 111 balls when Dhananjaya de Silva came round the wicket and beat Warner’s outside edge to stump him. Warner attempted a drive off a flighted delivery but failed to connect with the ball, and wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella did an excellent job behind the stumps.
