England captain Eoin Morgan praised Jos Buttler. Calling him the best limited-overs player after he scored an unbeaten 162 off 70 balls in England’s 232-run victory over the Netherlands in Amstelveen. Morgan also discussed the significance of playing ODI cricket ahead of the World Cup in India next year.

Buttler, speaking about his current form, stated that he could not have had a better season in the Indian Premier League (IPL), adding that he came into the ODI with a good touch. He felt that after not playing cricket for two months following the T20 World Cup and the Ashes, he came into the IPL with a lot of motivation to give it his all.

“best white-ball player” He lives in his own world: Eoin Morgan

“The last few days have been fantastic. It feels good to be a part of this group. “To post a big score like that and then Jos coming in at the end and being in his own world is absolutely amazing – probably the reason why he is the best white-ball cricketer in the world,” Morgan quoted as saying by India Today.

“It’s great when the guys come in and play with the mantra we’ve been playing for the last six years.” We haven’t played much 50-over cricket in a while, and it’s important to have such situations before the World Cup in India next year,” he added.

England batsmen were relentless from the start, despite losing opener Jason Roy early on before Dawid Malan and opener Phil Salt added 222 runs for the second wicket. Then came Buttler at No. 4 with some crazy hitting alongside Liam Livingstone, who hit a 17-ball fifty as England set a world record total of 498 runs.

The game was all but over in the second innings. The hosts put up a respectable total of 266 in 49.4 overs, with opener Max O’Dowd scoring a run-a-ball 55 and wicketkeeper-batter Scott Edwards scoring an unbeaten 72 off 56 balls. The second match of the three-match ODI series will be played on June 19 (Sunday) in Amstelveen.
