Mohammed Siraj has lost some confidence, but he will recover quickly: Mike Hesson. Mohammed Siraj finished the IPL with nine wickets in 15 matches at an economy rate of 10.08.
Mohammed Siraj had another poor performance, failing to help Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) avoid defeat against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad on Friday (May 27). RR batters targeted Siraj, who scored 31 runs in two overs. As a result, RR easily chased down the target of 158 in 18.1 overs. However, following the game, RCB’s Mike Hesson backed him for a stronger comeback the following season.
Siraj finished the IPL with nine wickets in 15 matches at an economy of 10.08. His bowling average was 57.11, making him the first bowler in IPL history to concede 30 or more sixes in a season. Siraj was dropped in the last league match, but he was back in the starting lineup for the playoffs.

Mohammed Siraj is a good bowler, but this was not his best tournament: Mike Hesson
However, Siraj failed to repay the RCB management’s faith, taking only one wicket while conceding 72 runs in six overs over the two playoff games. “Mohammed Siraj is a fine bowler; he didn’t have his best tournament, but we know he’ll come back strong,” Mike said after the match. “Just didn’t get us those new-ball wickets, didn’t get the ball swinging, and probably lost a bit of confidence,” he added. But, as I previously stated, he will return stronger.”
In terms of other players’ performances, Mike Hesson appeared “pretty pleased” with Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli. “Glenn Maxwell had a good all-around season with both bat and ball,” he said. Very high strike rate, with an average of nearly 30. With the ball, we went for seven runs per over. Sure, you want more, but I think he had a good season with both the bat and the ball.”
“Obviously, we started with Virat at No. 3, but he quickly rose to the top.” And he definitely improved throughout the season. In the last 4-5 innings, he appeared to be in good form. Overall, I’m pleased with how the team has gelled this season,” Hesson concluded. Rajasthan Royals will face Gujarat Titans in this year’s IPL Final on Sunday in Ahmedabad (May 29).
