India Cricketer Impressed by Captaincy of Rishabh Pant. The Delhi Capitals have won six of their 12 games under Rishabh Pant’s leadership and are currently fifth in the IPL 2022 points table.
The Delhi Capitals defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by an eight-wicket margin on Wednesday, keeping their playoff hopes alive in the IPL 2022. So far, DC has six wins from 12 games and is fifth in the points table. Following the match, former India all-rounder Ajay Jadeja stated that Pant did an excellent job leading the team. Jadeja also stated that DC head coach Ricky Ponting collaborated closely with Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant, but he trusted the young wicketkeeper-batter to lead the team.
“Rishabh Pant has made sound decisions and is an aggressive player. He appeared to be in a senior position early in his career. The youth factor must be preserved. It was incredible to see him play like this today. Nobody expects him to go out there and perform like the other batters “Jadeja stated during a discussion on Cricbuzz.
Jadeja Impressed by Captaincy of Rishabh Pant: It’s great to see making such bold decisions.
“When someone is appointed captain, you can sense that someone is guiding them. But it’s clear that Pant is the one making the decisions. Ricky Ponting preferred Rishabh Pant to ex-captain Shreyas Iyer. He saw both of them and chose Pant to lead the team because he thought he was the better option of the two “Jadeja stated.
Mitchell Marsh (89) and David Warner (52 not out) both hit half-centuries to help DC chase down a total of 161 with eight wickets and 11 balls to spare.
Earlier, Ravichandran Ashwin’s 38-ball 50 had helped RR reach 160 for six.
On Monday, May 16, DC will now face the Punjab Kings.
