MS Dhoni will captain the Chennai Super Kings within the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after Ravindra Jadeja ventured down.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, MS Dhoni’s first match as the reinstated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain resulted in a win over SunRisers Hyderabad. He took over the position after Ravindra Jadeja stepped down to focus on his own game.
However, with Dhoni now in his forties, the issue is what CSK’s long-term strategy will be. Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg believes the four-time winners will face a difficult assignment in finding a capable replacement for captain MS Dhoni if he does not return next season.

“Who will replace MS Dhoni at the conclusion of the year, now that he has taken up the role? Because there isn’t a player on CSK’s team list who can properly and efficiently captain this team. They’ll have to go to the auction next year to choose a captaincy candidate.
Finding someone Indian to complete the job will be difficult because all of India’s greatest T20 players have already been assigned to other teams “On his YouTube channel, Hogg, who has played for the Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, remarked.
“Ravindra Jadeja was a good choice but he lacked experience. He was the best candidate to succeed Dhoni.”

CSK could also consider signing an overseas player, according to Hogg. “They’ll have to look for a global player. It will be difficult to find a player that will captain the team effectively and will fit in to the balance and the game plan that CSK already have in place,” he said.
