Kane Williamson and the SRH were aided by a DRS call.
Only two wickets were taken by one of the strongest bowling assaults in the IPL against Sunrisers Hyderabad, thanks to a blunder in judgment.
During the Sunrisers’ chase, Kane Williamson should have been out for two in the first over, but the Gujarat Titans did not review.
As Williamson seemed quite close, Mohammed Shami’s fourth ball of the opening over slipped off the surface and smacked on the pads. The leg-before challenge was denied by the on-field umpire, leaving Hardik Pandya and his teammates to wonder if there was an inside edge. After a lengthy discussion, Titans wicketkeeper Matthew Wade appeared keen to head upstairs. Shami, on the other hand, didn’t seem convinced, while Pandya seemed hesitant.
DRS indicated three reds, no inside edge, and the ball striking the top of the middle, giving Williamson a reprieve. In his team’s eight-wicket victory, the Sunrisers captain went on to score a 46-ball 57.

Rashid Khan was asked about the error during the post-match press conference. The Titans’ leg-spinner, on the other hand, defended his captain. “On the field, you only have 10-15 seconds to work with. It’s not an easy task. Also, in LBW rulings, the wicketkeeper and bowler are the most important factors. The skipper didn’t play a big part in it. “However, we will make an effort to learn from our mistakes,” Rashid stated.
It was also an error from the on-field umpire, according to former India opener Aakash Chopra. “Who’d have guessed that the IPL’s greatest bowling attack would only take two wickets in a game?” Also, while we fault the fielding side for failing to take Kane’s review, it should have been given out in the first place,” he said.
