Pakistan produced a spectacular batting showing to complete their most successful run-chase; in one-day internationals, defeating Australia by six wickets to tie the three-match series 1-1. Imam-ul-Haq and captain Babar Azam produced astonishing century as Pakistan; overcame the target with six balls remaining in the second ODI, chasing an implausible 349 for victory.

 Following the triumph in the second ODI, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB); released a video of Babar scolding Imam following the latter’s poor performance in the first ODI. The video then shows Babar congratulating Imam on his century and hugging him.

Imam had also scored a century (103) in the first ODI; with Pakistan chasing a total of 314 runs to win. Pakistan had been doing well with Imam leading the chase from one end; but everything went apart when the left-hander was removed.

Pakistan was eventually defeated by 88 runs.

In the second ODI, though, despite Pakistan’s need for a record chase, nothing of the sort occurred.

Fakhar Zaman smashed 67 off 64 balls, and he and Imam added 118 runs for the first wicket.

Imam then teamed up with his skipper, Babar, for a second-wicket stand of 111 runs; laying the groundwork for Pakistan’s historic victory.

Khushdil Shah rounded up the match with an undefeated 27 off 17 balls.

The third and final ODI will be played on Saturday, before Australia’s tour of Pakistan concludes on Tuesday; April 5, with a one-off T20I at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore.
