He previously led Salzburg, another Red Bull-backed team, to back-to-back league and cup doubles in Austria.

Marsch has agreed to a contract that will last through June 2025, subject to international approval.

Leeds has lost five of its previous six league games, dropping to within two points of the relegation zone. Bielsa’s final match in charge was a 4-0 loss to Tottenham on Saturday; which meant Leeds had conceded 20 goals in February, the most in a single month in league history.

“I have to figure out how to do the crucial and simple things right immediately; before I start adding complexity,” Marsch added.

“We have everything we require right here. I’m here to assist this group realize how able to make strides and handle the circumstance at hand. We must stay calm and control what we will control right presently. We’re still in a breathtaking; position where we have total control over our fate. Marsch has been a portion of the Ruddy Bull activity for the past seven a long time; coaching in New York, Salzburg, and Leipzig for four months. “My aggressiveness and desire for teams to be intensive and run and make things difficult for the opponent; matches with what has been done here for three and a half years (under Bielsa),”; the former United States midfielder said.

That could make the 48-year-old Marsch’s transfer to Leeds a little simpler; even though he inherits a club that is low on confidence and has a number of key players injured; including first-choice scorer Patrick Bamford, England midfielder Kalvin Phillips, and captain Liam Cooper.

Marsch will coach in the Premier League alongside fellow American Bob Bradley, who led Swansea for 85 days in 2016. David Wagner, a German-born former United States international; was the manager of Huddersfield Town in England’s Premier League from 2017 to 2019.

Marsch’s first game in command will be against Leicester on Saturday; and he admits he has a tough act to follow in Bielsa, who guided Leeds back; to the Premier League for the first time since 2004 and is regarded as one of the world’s best coaches.

“I’ve followed his career and what he’s done from afar, and he is unquestionably a hero here,” Marsch said.

“It’s pretty astonishing how he’s helped Leeds United become a Premier League team.”

“All I ask is aid to carry the light forward to the next phase.”; Everything we’ve done so far has established a fantastic foundation.”
