Women’s World Cup will be played with nine players per group within the event of Covid-19
In order to ensure a smooth competition, the ICC announced on Thursday that in the event of a COVID-19 outbreak; all matches at the 2019 Women’s ODI World Cup in New Zealand might be plays with nine players. The ICC guidelines on playing conditions already include a nine-player-a-side game which has been; in existence since India won the U-19 World Cup in the West Indies for a record fifth time. Women’s World Cup will be play with nine players per group within the event of Covid-19.
The prevailing playing circumstances, according to ICC head of events Chris Tetley; allow clubs to field a shortened side if a COVID epidemic occurs in their squad; augmented by substitute fielders from inside the management and coaching staff.
“As an exception for this setting, we would allow a team to field nine players if it became essential.”

“And if they have female substitutes among their management team; we will allow two substitutes to play — non-batting and non-bowling – in order for a game to be plays.”

With the possibility of a pandemic in mind, all teams have been allows to bring three extra players; as traveling reserves who can be called into the 15-member main squad if a COVID casualty occurs.
If necessary, the ICC official did not rule out rescheduling games.
“We’ll ask teams to be as flexible as possible and we’ll be as flexible as possible; if the need arises to meet our goal of getting the games on,” he said.
