In Pakistan Marnus Labuschagne is ready for a spin challenge.
With reference to the next tour to Pakistan, Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne; believes the only part they don’t have “cover for is spin. Following a thumping of England to reclaim the Ashes last month; Australia has risen to the top of the world rankings. In Pakistan Marnus Labuschagne is ready for a spin challenge.
The Australians, on the other hand, are returning to Pakistan after a 24-year absence; and Labuschagne correctly describes the challenge of playing there as “a massive uncertainty.” Along with his coach, Steve Smith; the South African-born naturalized Australian has emerged as one of their finest batsmen in Test match cricket. So it’s no surprise that Labuschagne sought advice from Smith before laying out a batting track on a mat; with aluminum and metal pieces in his garden to imitate spin situations.
The Australian had shared a video of this practice wicket on social media; which received a lot of attention, with many people praising his creative preparation methods.

One of the key factors when you go to England is that the ball strikes; the stumps from a shorter length, Labuschagne explained.
“You can’t really foresee what it’s going to do,” he added; “so you’ve got to come up with a plan and a procedure.” That was the idea that went into it.”
In Pakistan, Australia will play three Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and one Twenty20 match.
