Gujarat Titans will be the name of the IPL team from Ahmedabad.
The Gujarat Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, will play in the Indian Premier League. The name was also chosen to pay homage to the state’s historic cricketing tradition; according to the franchise, which is controlled by private equity group CVC Capital.
“We want this group to achieve great things for Gujarat and its many enthusiastic fans; which is why we have picked the name Titans,” said Siddharth Patel, a spokesperson of the franchise. We are optimistic that we will be able to put together the ideal combination of players; for the next season, as we approach the league’s mega auction, he said.
