Barty is hoping to make history by being the first Australian; woman to win the Australian singles title in 44 years. Keys has a 2-1 lifetime advantage over the reigning Wimbledon and also 2019 French Open winner. Keys enters the semifinals on a 10-match winning run and a total of 11 wins this season; which matches her entire win total from 2021.

Collins was too steady for Alize Cornet in their quarterfinal on Wednesday; and she was content to sit back and watch Swiatek sweat in the center-court heat; in a three-hour battle with Kaia Kanepi to earn a position in the final four.
