Ahead of the impending multi-format tour to Pakistan, it has revealed that certain Australian players are hesitant to travel there. The players are more concerned about terrorist strikes in Pakistan, according to a story in the Sydney Morning Herald. Australia will be travelling Pakistan for the first time in 24 years.

Cricket Australia previously stated that the safety and well-being of its players is their first priority.

After repeated briefings for what would be the first Australian tour of Pakistan since Mark Taylor’s men visited in 1998, national selector George Bailey said he believed security measures for the tour were “very, very robust and very, very thorough.”

“I believe the boards are still working through some of the finer technicalities around that tour,” Bailey told reporters, according to cricket.com.au. “Once that gets the formal tick of approval, then we’ll announce the team following that, but we’re relatively well down the track.”
