Burkina Faso defeated Gabon in the Round of 16 match; and also goalkeeper Herve Koffi celebrated by performing four backflips and a somersault.
During Burkina Faso’s Round of 16 match against Gabon in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations; goalkeeper Herve Koffi drew the attention of football fans all around the world. The match goes to a penalty shootout when the scores were tie 1-1; and Koffi delivered a memorable celebration after his team’s winning spot-kick. Ismahila Ouedrago scored the game-winning penalty and celebrated by taking off his shirt; but he was entirely eclipsed by his teammate’s gymnastics. Koffi did four backflips and a double somersault as soon as Ouedrago converted the penalty.

Over the course of 120 minutes, referee Redouane Jiyed handed out 14 yellow cards.
Sidney Obissa, a Gabonese defender, are also sent off in the 87th minute; after collecting a second yellow card for a bookable offense.
Burkina Faso’s Bertrand Traore scored in the first half; and the team appeared to be on track to qualify for the next round.
However, an own goal in stoppage time by midfielder Adama Guira forced the game into extra time and ultimately penalties.
Burkina Faso wrapped up moment in Gather A, behind Cameroon, to qualify for the knockout stages. On January 30, they will also play Tunisia within the quarter-finals at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua.
