Kevin Pietersen believes Rohit Sharma should be selected as Test captain.
Kevin Pietersen believes that living in the bio-bubble for lengthy periods of time took its toll on Virat Kohli; and also that this contributed to his decision to step down as captain.
Former England captain Kevin Pietersen believes that white-ball skipper; Rohit Sharma should also take over as Virat Kohli’s successor in the Test team. Pietersen, who will play for World Giants in the Legends Cricket League; claimed India had options in KL Rahul and Sharma, but he would choose the latter.
I prefer Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, but you have a lot of options. Rishabh Pant isn’t there yet, but he might be (cricket). Both Sharma and Rahul are talented players. I enjoy watching Hitman (Rohit Sharma) play cricket. He has performed admirably for the Mumbai Indians, and he is the next in line.”
One of the reasons Kohli stood down from captaincy; according to the English batsman-turned-commentator, was because he was continuously playing while in a bio-bubble. “Virat Kohli is the type of guy for whom it is really tough for his personality; to operate in the current circumstances. I have friends in all sports, some of whom are world champions, and also they all agree that playing; in the conditions that have existed for the past two years is extremely difficult. I’m not surprised that Virat simply wants a break from the added strain; because playing in a bubble is so difficult.”

‘Unfair’ and ‘harsh’ criticism of Kohli, according to Pietersen. “Kohli requires a large number of people.” Because he is an entertainer, Kohli gets his juices flowing. People who criticize modern-day athletes are mistaken, in my opinion, because playing in a bio-bubble is difficult.”
The bio-bubble and playing in front of closed doors, according to Pietersen; has also taken the pleasure out of sports for athletes.
“It’s supposed to be the best job on the planet,” says the narrator. However, putting them in the bubble isn’t the most pleasant task. He added, “There is no fun.”
The IPL cannot be blamed for the Ashes defeat.
The former IPL captain believes it is illogical to blame the T20 competition for England’s dismal performance in the Ashes. David Gower, a former England batsman, blamed also the IPL for England’s Ashes defeat.
“It’s a blunder.” The IPL cannot be blamed for England’s downfall in Test cricket. The problem lies with the county cricket structure. If you look at the England team, (Ben) Stokes; (Jonny) Bairstow, and (Jos) Buttler are the only players who play in the IPL.”

Was there a drinking culture issue among the British group; as proved by news accounts of police being summoned to put a conclusion to a post-Ashes party? No, concurring with Pietersen. “I can’t picture how forlorn it must be; what else do you do?” You are incapable of visiting a coffee shop, and also are not allowed to eat in a restaurant. You are not allowed to act in any way. I’m beyond any doubt that the folks would have looked for some sort; of social movement that they also thought was appropriate. ” It’s an interesting circumstance. “Everyone has had a harsh time within the past two long years,” he said.
