Therefore, An Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper crash near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, killed General Rawat, his wife, and 11 people on Wednesday. Following the devastating news, several present and past Indian cricketers flocked. The social media pay tribute to General Rawat and the other victims of the plane disaster.
“Deeply saddened by the untimely demise of CDS Bipin Rawat ji and also other officials in a tragic helicopter crash. My deepest condolences to the friends & family members.” Kohli tweeted

The Indian Air Force confirmed the deaths earlier in the day in an official statement:
“With deep regret, it has now been ascertained that Gen Bipin Rawat, Mrs Madhulika Rawat and 11 other persons on board have died in the unfortunate accident.”
According to the statement, Gen Bipin Rawat was also on his way to Defence Services Staff College in Wellington (Nilgiri Hills) to address the professors and student officers of the Staff Course.
