Yuzvendra Chahal, an Indian leg-spinner, thanked the Royal Challengers Bangalore for their support throughout the years. His reaction came after the organization decided not to keep him on Tuesday, just days before the blockbuster auction.
On Tuesday night, the Challengers, like other teams, released their roster of retained players.
The 2016 runners-up have kept former captain Virat Kohli, Australian swashbuckler Glenn Maxwell, and bowler Mohammed Siraj, as predicted.
Chahal then went on to comment on a video in which RCB announced the identities of the players they’d kept. He expressed himself as follows:
“Thank you for everything @RCBTweets”
Glenn Maxwell
The franchise has kept Virat Kohli as its first player. He would be paid Rs 15 crore, down from Rs 17 crore previously. Glenn Maxwell is the second player to sign a contract for Rs 11 crore per year. At a cost of Rs 7 crore, Mohammed Siraj is the third choice.
According to media sources, the management and Chahal were unable to reach an agreement on contract money.
The RCB’s bowling unit was led by Yuzvendra Chahal.
Following the revelation of the retention list, RCB social media accounts expressed gratitude to players who did not make the cut.
With Chahal back in the auction pool, the franchises may find themselves in a bidding war.
Three players will be chosen at random from the release pool by the newly founded Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises. As a result, Chahal might end up on one of these two teams.
Chahal has appeared in 114 IPL games thus far, capturing 139 wickets at an average of 22.28 and a 7.59 economy rate.
