Salman Butt has reacted to reports of Hardik Pandya being asked to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA)

Salman Butt, a former Pakistan captain, has reacted to rumors that Hardik Pandya has been summoned to the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Butt praised the BCCI’s decision, but added that the all-rounder needs to improve on his ‘lean structure’ in order to play in all three formats of the game on a regular basis.

“It is a good decision. Hardik Pandya needs to put on muscle. He needs to train and have good food for him to survive in all three formats. Otherwise, it will become challenging for him, with his lean structure.” Butt said

Hardik Pandya represented India at the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021, although he was left out of the home series against New Zealand. Since his injury, there have been doubts about Hardik’s fitness. Although fans have not seen him play as a full all-rounder, the team’s management has continued to support him as a pure batter in recent games.

In the same video, Salman Butt conducted a Q&A session with supporters. Virat Kohli was questioned by a fan if he could beat Ricky Ponting’s record of 71 international hundreds. When responding to the fan, Butt sounded upbeat about Kohli’s chances.

“Yes, Virat Kohli can definitely break Ricky Ponting’s record,” Butt replied. “If anybody in this world deserves to have this century record, among the modern greats, it is Virat Kohli. It is about time he returns to his old form. The burden on him has reduced slightly. He will focus more on his batting and we will probably see the 2018-19 version of Kohli soon.” he said

It’ll be intriguing to see if he can break that record in the games ahead.
