Rachin Ravindra hopes to get a few pointers from Rahul Dravid in IND vs NZ 2021

Rachin Ravindra, a New Zealand all-rounder, commented about his previous encounters with Team India head coach Rahul Dravid and admitted that he hopes to learn even more during the visit. Rachin turned 22 on Thursday, just days before the crucial match against India in Ranchi.

The left-handed batter claimed that he has faced youth teams coached by Rahul Dravid on multiple occasions, and that he has had the opportunity to speak with the icon. Rachin wishes for more such contacts now that the Black Caps are on tour and Rahul Dravid has taken over as Team India’s head coach.

“Yeah, Dravid is an absolute legend in the game and I played a bit of cricket against him when he was coaching in India A and a few series a couple of years ago when he came to New Zealand. He was coaching those guys and the India U-19 team. So it’s just awesome to interact with them a little bit.” Rachin said

“Obviously, I’d love to interact a little bit more during this series, he’s an absolute legend in the game. So if I can pick his brains it would be amazing,” Rachin added

Rachin lauded India’s spin tradition while sparing praise for off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. He stated that he has not yet had the opportunity to communicate with Ashwin, but he is looking forward to picking up some pointers.
