Australia won their first men’s T20 World Cup with a victory over New Zealand in the final. Bringing an end to another T20 World Cup campaign.
On the field, the T20 World Cup 2021 produced several outstanding performances. There were plenty of captivating batting performances to catch the eye. From Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan’s dazzling start against India to Mitchell Marsh’s blazing knock against the Kiwis in the final.
While other batters went about their business with grace and finesse, the huge power hitters didn’t hold back either.
The top three individual batting performances in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 are listed below.
#3 Mitchell Marsh (77 runs off 50 balls)
Mitchell Marsh, who batted at number three and served as the enforcer for Australia, was vital in the team’s success. The all-rounder had a handful of half-centuries throughout the competition. The most important of which came against New Zealand in the final.
With an undefeated 77, Marsh put the critics to rest and led Australia to their first men’s T20 World Cup triumph. From the first ball, Marsh was on the attack. The Perth all-rounder set the tone with six, four, and four against Adam Milne, and he made the most of it.
For his dazzling performance in the final, Marsh was named player of the match.
#2 Kane Williamson (85 runs off 48 balls)
It’s not often that two outstanding performances are combined in a T20 World Cup final. However, we were fortunate enough to see world-class performances in this year’s final.
Kane Williamson is currently one of the top all-round batters in the world. The New Zealand captain is frequently chastised for his slow strike rate. But with his win over Australia, he debunked that myth.
#1 Jos Buttler (101* runs in 67 balls – The highest score in the T20 World Cup 2021)
At this year’s T20 World Cup, Jos Buttler was one of the most fascinating hitters to watch. With an average of 89.66 and a strike rate of 151.12, the England hitter scored 269 runs in the event.
Despite destroying a world-class bowling attack in his side’s opener against Australia, Buttler’s best effort came against a spirited Sri Lankan outfit.
