Cricket Match: Former Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar has expressed regret that Babar Azam was not named Player of the Tournament in the just concluded T20 World Cup 2021.
The 46-year-old revealed on Twitter that he hoped Pakistani captain Babar Azam will receive the prestigious honor. Therefore, The reason for this, according to Akhtar, was Azam’s outstanding batsmanship in the multi-nation event. He called David Warner’s selection for the prestigious award a “unfair choice.”
During the ICC event, Babar Azam garnered praise from all corners for both his batting and captaincy. The graceful right-hander ended as the leading run-getter in the league this year with 303 runs from six matches. Azam, in particular, smashed four half-centuries in those games.
