Mark Boucher says “Home series against India an opportunity to do something special and beat them”

Mark Boucher, the head coach of South Africa, has already set his sights on a home series against India, with the goal of making considerable progress against them. The three-match Test series will kick off India’s all-format tour to South Africa on the 17th of December.

India will visit South Africa for the first time after completing a successful tour in early 2018. Despite comfortable victories in the ODI and T20 series, Virat Kohli and his teammates were defeated in the Test series. The visitors, on the other hand, would be full of confidence after having conquered Australia and England.

Mark Boucher does not anticipate South Africa to win the series against India, a greatly improved team on the international stage. Boucher aspires to create something unique with the Proteas, who he describes as an improving team with a few flaws.

“Unscathed is a particularly interesting word to use, but we’re playing an India team at home that’s up there with the world’s best. If you look at where we are as a Test group, we’re still growing and we’re still trying to find our feet with certain positions. It’s going to be a good challenge and a good test for us. We did well in the West Indies, but we haven’t played a Test at home in a while. He said

‘It’s not about getting unscathed, but going out there with an opportunity to do something special and beat India. If we don’t, we’ll obviously learn the lessons and come out as a better cricket team,” he added

India came close in South Africa in 2006-07, drew in 2010-11, then lost in 2013-14 and the 2017-18 leg. Their recent success, on the other hand, provides them the best chance to win their first Test series on South African soil. Progress is made possible by an aggressive skipper, a fantastic bowling team, and tremendous depth.
