Yuvraj Singh, a former Indian middle-order batsman, is planning a comeback to cricket.
Yuvraj announced on his social media pages on Monday night that he will return to the pitch “on public demand” in February of next year.
Singh announced his return with a video of his final international hundred, which was accompanied by a patriotic Bollywood song called “Teri Mitti.”
“God decides your destiny !!On public demand il be back on the pitch hopefully in February ! Ain’t nothing like this feeling ! Thank you for your love and wishes ❤️ mean a lot to me ! Keep supporting 🇮🇳 it’s our team and a true fan will show his or her support in tough times 👊🏽 #jaihind
In 2019, Singh announced his retirement from Indian cricket. Following that, he has played in minor leagues such as Global T20 Canada and charity events such as the Road Safety World Series.
Yuvraj’s video brought back memories of his legendary partnership with former captain MS Dhoni. During the second One-Day International against England, that innings took place in Cuttack.
KL Rahul
India was now 25/3 down after losing the crème of their batting line in KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, and skipper Virat Kohli. That’s when the seasoned pair crossed paths in the middle.
Then came a flashback to the mid-late 2000s, when Yuvraj and Dhoni would routinely perform such feats.
The duo piled up 256 runs in spectacular fashion, scoring individual tons in the process. Singh scored his highest ODI score (150 off 127) while Dhoni made his final ODI ton.
India eventually posted 381/6 in 50 overs, which was more than enough for even a powerful batting lineup like England’s.
The host team took a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match series, which they eventually won 2-1.
