Harbhajan Singh- “Like MS Dhoni does when he captains CSK” in T20 World Cup 2021

To beat New Zealand in their second match of the T20 World Cup 2021. Harbhajan Singh believes India will have to follow MS Dhoni’s captaincy book. On Sunday in Dubai, Virat Kohli’s team will face Kane Williamson’s side.

MS Dhoni puts pressure on his opponents with his clever field placements. According to the experienced spinner in a video on his YouTube account. He claims that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain deploys his fielders based on where he expects the ball to go, rather than in orthodox positions. India, according to Harbhajan Singh, will need to demonstrate a comparable level of awareness in order to defeat the Kiwis.

“T20s is such a format where if you don’t take wickets, you’ll keep getting further away from the game. For that, the pressure will have to be created through the field setting like MS Dhoni does when he captains CSK. He puts the fielder in such a place where the ball will go. It’s not necessarily the orthodox midwicket or cover. He moves his fielders to places where the ball is expected to go. I expect this kind of captaincy and this kind of awareness from India in this match.” He asserted

In their tournament opener, India were defeated by Pakistan by ten wickets. MS Dhoni, who just won his fourth IPL title with CSK, is serving as a mentor for the team. Intriguingly, his last match for India was in the 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final against New Zealand.

It remains to be seen whether this deluge of background and emotion will provide India with the necessary motivation to earn their first two points in the competition.
