According to Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, “using language, acts, or gestures that demean, or that could encourage an angry reaction. From a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”
Liton Das, on the other hand, refers to “behavior that is contrary to the spirit of the game” under Article 2.20 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.
The players were sanctioned by ICC match referee Javagal Srinath. Because both Lahiru Kumara and Liton Das pleaded guilty. And accepted the fines, there was no need for a formal hearing.
After Liton Das was dismissed in Bangladesh’s innings, the event occurred in the sixth over. Soon after, Lahiru Kumara approached Das and exchanged some words with him, which enraged the Bangladesh batter.
