Moeen Ali, an England all-rounder, feels Liam Livingstone’s injury is not as serious as first thought and expects him to return soon. He also praised Livingstone’s effect after being selected in the starting XI.
Given Ben Stokes’ absence, this is Livingstone’s first major ICC event. He has a key role to perform, particularly with the bat. Over the summer, the spin-bowling all-rounder cemented his spot in the T20 team, but he had a disappointing IPL season with the Rajasthan Royals.
“I think he’s alright. I think it’s just bruising on the back of the hand but I think he’ll be fine. Obviously, it was a bit of a scare at the time but he said it was fine, so hopefully, he’s all good. ” said Ali
“He’s a brilliant player – he’s been playing really well over the last couple of years. Hopefully, he can carry that form into the World Cup and I feel like it’s going be a big stage for him.” Ali added
Moeen Ali continued right where he left off in the 2021 IPL Final. The all-rounder scored 43 off just 20 balls for England in the warm-up fixture. Ali was lethal in the death overs and unleashed carnage against Bhuvneshwar Kumar in particular.
Liam Livingstone
England’s next warm-up game against New Zealand will reportedly be without Liam Livingstone. After being hit on the finger, he was forced to exit the game and was replaced by Sam Billings. In their first warm-up match, the 2016 finalists were defeated by India.
In the light at the ICC Academy in Dubai, the all-rounder looked to lose track of the ball for a brief period. Livingstone was in obvious agony right quickly, and there was substantial swelling a short time afterward. His injuries will be examined in the next 24 hours, according to an England spokeswoman.
During the warm-up match against India, Livingstone was particularly useful. With the bat, he scored 30 runs and with the ball, he bowled a two-over stint for only 10 runs and the wicket of skipper Virat Kohli.
