Aakash Chopra analyzes West Indies’ chances of defending the title in the T20 World Cup 2021

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra believes the West Indies T20 World Cup 2021 lineup contains far too many aged cricketers.

Kieron Pollard (34) will lead the West Indies at the T20 World Cup. The roster also includes Chris Gayle, a 42-year-old icon, and Ravi Rampaul. Therefore, a 37-year-old bowler who is attempting a comeback.

“The conditions though will suit West Indies as the CPL is played on similar pitches. However, There was a time when the Windies pitches had also pace and bounce. But now their surfaces aid spin where the likes of Fabian Allen and Hayden Walsh Jr. do well. Roston Chase is back after a good CPL, so is Rampaul.”

On Monday, the West Indies played Pakistan in their first practice match in Dubai. Thus, Pakistan pulled out the target with also seven wickets in hand after restricting them to 130 for 7.
