The Sri Lankan cricket team has unveiled its jersey for the T20 World Cup

Sri Lanka’s T20 World Cup jersey has been revealed ahead of the qualifiers. Following the conclusion of the IPL, the major competition will begin in UAE and Oman. Sri Lanka’s World Cup campaign kicks out on October 18 in Abu Dhabi, when they meet Namibia in the qualifying round.

Sri Lankan journalist Azzam Ameen shared a photo of Sri Lankan top-order batter Dinesh Chandimal on Twitter. Chandimal was wearing the most recent World Cup jersey. It features the classic blue and yellow colors associated with Sri Lankan jerseys, as well as some creative patterns.

Due to their low standing in the ICC T20I team rankings, 2014 T20 World Cup champions Sri Lanka were denied direct entry to the tournament’s main phase.

Sri Lanka’s World Cup squad of 15 was announced lately. Dasun Shanaka will retain his position as captain after leading the island nation to a T20I series triumph over India in August. Dhananjaya De Silva, a dependable middle-order hitter, will serve as his deputy in the competition.

Sri Lanka’s qualification campaign kicks off on October 18 in Abu Dhabi against Namibia at Sheikh Zayed Stadium. On October 20 and 22, they will face Ireland and the Netherlands, respectively.

Sri Lanka’s final squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup:

Dasun Shanaka (c), Dhananjaya De Silva (vc), Kusal Perera, Dinesh Chandimal, Pathum Nissanka, Charith Asalanka, Avishka Fernando, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Chamika Karunaratne, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, Lahiru Kumara, Maheesh Theekshana, Akila Dananjaya, Binura Fernando

During the qualifiers, Dasun Shanaka’s team will earn a berth in one of the Super 12 groups if they finish in the top half of the table.
