As Mahendra Singh Dhoni wound back the clock to finish things off in style against the Delhi Capitals (DC) and bring the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their ninth IPL final on Sunday. Sakshi Dhoni was spotted becoming upset (October 10).

When Ruturaj Gaikwad was removed on the first ball of the penultimate over. Dhoni made a crucial decision by elevating himself ahead of Ravindra Jadeja.

CSK still needed 24 runs off the final 11 deliveries, and with Dhoni past his batting heyday. It was expected that an in-form Jadeja would bat ahead of the great finisher.

IPL 2021 As such, MS Dhoni has always been known for his incredible self-confidence, and it was on full show during Qualifier 1 when the three-time IPL champion skipper decided to take matters into his own hands.

He missed the first ball he encountered from Avesh Khan, then smashed a much-needed six with an attempted pull shot on the second slower ball bouncing.

On the first delivery in the final over, Tom Curran removed Moeen Ali, putting the cats among the pigeons.

Dhoni, on the other hand, was in the mood to go back in time and blasted a slower Curran delivery through the covers. To reduce the equation to nine off four.

On the next ball, he got lucky and swung hard but got a thick inside edge. Allowing the move to run towards the fine-leg boundary.

Curran went for another slower ball bouncer with only four needed off the last three balls. Dhoni rocked back to pull him behind the square to cap things off in style.

And, while he remained calm as usual, Sakshi couldn’t keep her emotions in check. As she embraced their daughter in her arms.
