The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have stunned everyone by making it to the IPL 2021 playoffs, according to Irfan Pathan.
After the first half of the IPL 2021 in India, KKR appeared to be on the decline. Before the UAE leg of the tournament, the Eoin Morgan-led team had won only two of their first seven matches and were ranked eighth in the points table.
Irfan Pathan was asked about KKR’s amazing recovery after an unimpressive run in India at a Star Sports discussion.
“It was not good at all and it never seemed that they will make it to the top four. But it is praiseworthy how they have performed in the UAE. A couple of things are still missing and they have done it despite that.” He responded
While recognizing that KKR still has a few issues to work out, the former India all-rounder believes that Dinesh Karthik and Morgan’s solid middle-order performance should keep them in excellent shape heading into the playoffs.
“A small positive that we saw in the last match, Dinesh Karthik’s slight form, his unbeaten knock, and Morgan hit a six. So this will give them the confidence and it will be useful in the playoffs.”

KKR will be concerned about Andre Russell’s fitness in addition to Morgan and Karthik’s lack of runs. Despite the fact that Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has performed admirably, the two-time IPL champions will hope that the big-hitting Jamaican is fit enough to participate in the playoffs.
