Virat Kohli, the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), is getting ready for the business end of the IPL 2021 season in style. The famed hitter was spotted sweating it out in the nets and appeared to be in excellent form.
Kohli uploaded a video of his batting session to his social media sites. With scorn and a hint of class, the 32-year-old nailed all of his signature shots.
However, In the UAE leg, Virat Kohli looked to be in good form. The right-handed batter has two half-centuries to his credit and together with Devdutt Padikkal. It has helped his team get off to a strong start on the powerplay.
On slow, sluggish grounds against spinners, he has struggled to alter gears throughout the middle-overs. Kohli will aim to iron out chinks in his game in a final couple of league-stage matches as the playoffs approach.
After losing the first two games in the UAE leg, the Royal Challengers have revitalized their campaign magnificently.
However, After the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Delhi Capitals (DC), the Kohli-led team followed up by winning three games in a row to become the third team to reach the playoffs.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Therefore, The Royal Challengers Bangalore have qualified for the playoffs with as many as two games to spare for the first time since the 2011 season, which Kohli himself referred to during an interview following their penultimate game against the Punjab Kings (PBKS).
“Feels amazing. After 2011, we haven’t done it with games to spare. Eight wins out of 12 games is a great campaign. We have two more opportunities to finish in the top two. Should give us the motivation to play even more fearlessly,” Kohli said
The Challengers will now try to secure a top-two berth alongside DC with two games remaining. To do this, RCB must win both of their matches (against SRH and DC) and hope that Punjab defeats CSK.
