If the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians are to successfully defend their IPL crown. The fielding coach Robin Singh believes the batting group must put inconsistent performances in the remaining games.
The former Indian cricketer, speaking ahead of Mumbai’s must-win IPL 2021 match. Against the Rajasthan Royals, urged the batting unit to overcome its slump.
“The bowling has done pretty well, the batters have performed only in patches. And you need a lot of consistency,” said Robin Singh in a video shared by Mumbai Indians on their Instagram page. he said
The Royals may not be the most consistent team in the IPL. But they have beaten Mumbai in each of the last three seasons.
In the IPL, every opponent brings a new set of problems to the fore, and it’s critical to bring your “A” game on any given day, according to Singh.
“I think all opponents are really tough in this competition. It’s just that you can’t be compliant. It’s really about going out there and playing good cricket,” he added.
Mumbai leads the overall series 13-12, but the Royals have only won two of the last seven matches between the two teams.
To avoid the net run-rate calculations, Mumbai must win both of their next two games and hope that Rajasthan defeats the Kolkata Knight Riders in their final league stage match.

Robin Singh, on the other hand, has challenged his players to concentrate entirely on winning their final two games by performing flawlessly in their assigned responsibilities.
“First thing is to put a win on the board. Play some good cricket, obviously, we have to look at other results as well,” he said
“Forget about the current situation. You have to treat it like just two games going into the tournament. Focus on what you have to do, forget about the results or what’s going to happen. I think it’s important to focus on what you need to do and the roles you need to play and on a given day, try and execute them.” he added
