MS Dhoni’s key role in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team, according to former Indian wicketkeeper and cricket specialist Deep Dasgupta, is that of a guide, not a batter. People shouldn’t criticize Dhoni’s batting style because he is past his prime, he believes.
MS Dhoni, on the other hand, has done a fantastic job as a mentor, according to Deep Dasgupta. CSK has already qualified for the playoffs, ensuring that last season’s failure was a one-time occurrence.
“I honestly think we should stop talking about MS Dhoni the player because he is past his prime. But he is important as a mentor and as a leader and still has cricket left in him. But somewhere I don’t want to talk about his batting is because he is a legend and the way he is batting now is just a shadow of what I would like to remember him. Now he is just playing to mentor the team and get them in a good position, especially after last season,” Deep Dasgupta stated. he said
MS Dhoni has taught and assisted stars like Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, and Ravindra Jadeja play for India and excel at the top level, according to Deep Dasgupta.
Deepak Chahar
Deepak Chahar is primarily a swing bowler who can also bat, and Shardul Thakur continues to show why he is so important to CSK as an all-rounder. Ravindra Jadeja, the batsman, has come a long way in the last few years. MS Dhoni, according to Deep Dasgupta, has had a significant impact on the trio’s development.
“People don’t realize that he has mentored 2-3 guys who are ready to play for India. He has mentored Deepak Chahar. Shardul Thakur was playing for some franchises before but we saw his best in Chennai. We have got a finisher in Ravindra Jadeja. So I think we have to recognize his contribution to the next generation as a mentor,” Deep Dasgupta concluded.
