Irfan Pathan says the Punjab Kings will expect more from Chris Gayle in the IPL 2021

Despite the fact that Chris Gayle may be past his prime, Irfan Pathan has stated that the Punjab Kings (PBKS) will expect greater contributions from him with the bat.

While praising Aiden Markram and Deepak Hooda’s performances. The former India all-rounder said that the Punjab Kings require more big and explosive knocks.

“Markram definitely tried to play a good knock but you need that firepower. Hooda also tried but you need more than that. Especially when your backs are against the wall you need to come up with the big punch. Punjab Kings and their batsmen will have to play the big knocks.” he said

After the Punjab Kings were reduced to 48/4 in the eighth over, Markram and Hooda put up a 61-run fifth-wicket partnership. Despite their bowlers’ best efforts, though, the 136-run target was not enough.
