Left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh has declared his retirement from Indian cricket and will handle his exchange for the USA before long. The 28-year-old has marked a three-year contract with the Major Alliance Cricket within the USA and plays for the Seattle Thunderbolts.
“This isn’t a sudden move. I was not getting the opportunity to play. In 12 a long time, I have overseen to play as it were 31 first-class matches. It was getting baffling with each passing year,” Harmeet told IndiaToday.In from Seattle.
“Last September, amid Covid-19, I moved to Seattle. I utilized to come here sometime recently each Ranji Trophy season to induce a few match practices. In any case, this time they advertised me a deal that I was not able to deny.
“The money I will be getting here is more than what I was earning in India. I will also have the opportunity to groom the budding cricketers at the grass-root level. Moreover, there’s job security here, which also prompted me to move,” said Harmeet, who has played 31 first-class matches in India.
