Roger Federer is getting to miss the U.S. Open and be sidelined for months since he needs a third operation on his right knee, a strategy he said will take off him with “a glimmer of hope” that he can return to competition.
Federer declared the news on Sunday through a video message on Instagram.
“I’ll be on crutches for many weeks and then also out of the game for many months,” Federer said.
“It’s getting to be difficult of course in a few ways but at the same time I know it’s the proper thing to do since I need to be solid and I need to be running around afterward as well.”
Federer, who offers the men’s record of 20 Astounding Pound titles with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, had knee surgery twice in 2020 which brought about in more than a year of recuperation sometime recently a return to activity in Walk, a few 13 months after his Australian Open semi-final exit last year.
