Australia’s James Duckworth was defeated by top-seeded Daniil Medvedev of Russia 6-2, 6-4 to progress to the National Bank Open quarterfinals.

Stefanos Tsitsipas celebrated his 23rd birthday Thursday by beating Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Karen Khachanov 6-2, 6-3.
